The Diffraction shader evolved from being a simple replacement for the XSI
refraction node (sans the bug) to a more advanced shader, that not only gives
superior results for glossy refractions, but also can compute chromatic
aberration effects and quick thickness calculations.
The sample scene provided shows one way to use the
diffraction node for rendering realistic glass.
This prism shows (exaggerated) use of the chromatic
aberration options.
The package currently consists of the xsiaddon file, the source code and an
example scene, so you can see how the shader is used, as well as the necessary Maya files.
